Registration Information for Puerto Rico
In Puerto Rico you can register at your local municipality or precinct where you reside. To be eligible to vote you must be a resident of Puerto Rico, and at least 18 years old. You are ineligible to vote if you have been legally declared mentally incompetent by a court. The identification required to register to vote in Puerto Rico is any from the following: a valid local government issued ID, a valid federal ID, or valid ID, or the last four digits of your Social Security Number. You can vote early in Puerto Rico if you meet one of the following: Are a member of the Police of Puerto Rico, Officer Corrections, Inmate in a penal institution of Puerto Rico, a member of the Commission, the Secretary, Vice-Presidents and Secretaries, members of local election commissions, and their alternates and affiliate employees, and athlete or member of a sports team, any professional that needs to travel outside of Puerto Rico on Election Day, people confined to a hospital or health care treatment facility, a judge, a person with mobility impairments. The identification required to vote in person is a valid voter ID card.
